Guatemala Mission *January 2024*
Be Part of the Mission Team
Spend a week in Guatemala with John Crowder
WHAT WILL WE DO?
As part of the mission team, you will release the supernatural presence, power and transformative love of Jesus Christ with us as we impart the glorious Gospel in Guatemala! This is the only trip currently open for applicants for the upcoming year (January 19-26, 2024). On this trip you will join John Crowder in helping equip local churches in the message of grace, healing the sick and participating in outreach to the poor (which may include ministry in slums, garbage dumps or the jungle). The team will minister at an event in Guatemala City and also travel to Antigua and/or rural areas for ministry to the poorest of the poor. Our mission trips are literally life-changing experiences - great for getting activated in the anointing and miracle-working flow of the Gospel. Space is very limited and early registration is recommended ... see more details below:
HOW DO I APPLY?
Our application process is very simple. Just follow the steps below and you're on your way!
1 - For starters, you will place your DEPOSIT using the payment button above to hold your spot on the team. Space will be limited for this trip, so be sure to submit your deposit EARLY. Cutoff deadline for deposits is September 31, 2023 or sooner if the team fills up.
2 - Next, you will need to CLICK THIS LINK to fill out our Mission Application.
3 - Now, simply wait! We will email you to confirm your placement on the team. We will also send periodic information as it becomes available about the trip. This is a good time to begin fund-raising at your local church or through family and friends who may want to support your mission!
Your next and final payment amount is due by November 15, 2023. You can pay this now or later (using the other button above). Just don't miss the deadline! Your payment covers all hotels, ground transport, and two meals a day - everything but your international airline ticket, which you will buy separately.
This is a "make your own way" trip, which means you will be responsible for purchasing your own round-trip airline ticket into Guatemala City, Guatemala. You can buy your tickets as soon as you are confirmed (keep in mind many folks like to donate air miles to missionaries! So you may end up flying for free). Simply fly in to Guatemala City anytime on January 19 and fly back out from Guatemala City anytime on January 26 (if you want some extra free time in Guatemala on your own, feel free to arrive earlier or stay later). For arrival and departure, you will taxi back and forth between the airport and the hotel. The team will meet up the morning of January 20 at the hotel. We will email everything you need to know about this and answer any questions.
Total Cost: $1,650
Team Applications Due: Sept. 31, 2023
Final Trip Payment Due: Nov. 15, 2023
Trip Dates: January 19-26, 2024
We will fly into Guatemala City landing anytime on January 19 and departing anytime on January 26. *If you choose to come early or stay later for holiday, that is fine!
Can I bring a church group?
Pastors and lay leaders may choose to serve as a team leader and bring along a small group from your own local area. Please contact us with any questions about this.
How will we serve?
The main purpose of our trip will be to minister the Gospel of Grace and release the healing, liberating power of Father, Son and Spirit everywhere we go. We will be assisting our friends in ministry with their existing work in the country. During the meetings, you will participate in prayer ministry, releasing joy, miracles and impartation. On the streets and slums we will also connect with many people for one-on-one ministry as we feel led. Our trip will include outreaches to garbage dumps and/or slums to visit with the poor.
What is the cost?
The total cost is $1,650 plus you will purchase your own air ticket into Guatemala City and back. The first deposit ($500) is due upon application no later than Sept. 31, 2023. The remainder of the payment ($1,150) is due by Nov. 15, 2023. Deposits are non-refundable, but may be applied to someone else if you are unable to go. To pay by check or bank transfer, email us at email@example.com.
Where will we travel?
This trip consists of visiting areas of around Guatemala City and Antigua.
What do costs include?
The payments you make to Sons of Thunder will cover nice hotels for your entire stay, all of your ground transportation (including the trip Antigua and back), as well as two meals a day and other costs associated with supporting the outreach endeavors. The costs do not include your flight to Guatemala and back.
When do I purchase a flight?
This is a "make your own way" trip, which means you will be responsible for purchasing your own airline ticket into Guatemala City (Arriving anytime on January 19) and back home (departing anytime January 26). You can begin looking for tickets and purchasing them right away. However we do recommend waiting until about 50 days prior to flight time (ticket prices go up last minute, but they may also be expensive if you book too early). Often friends and family have air miles they may want to donate to you. This is the benefit of a "make your own way" trip as you can potentially save on flights. Exact hour of arrival on January 19 is not important - the team will meet up the following morning at the team hotel. We will send information about the hotel and meet-up once you apply.
Who can join this trip?
Anyone can come along who wants to dive into mission work and enjoys the love and power of Jesus Christ spilling out to the nations! Simply follow the steps above and you're on your way!
Are there age limits?
Sometimes age limits can be waived with parental consent.
What do I pack and what do I bring?
Now you are overthinking this! We will send various emails along the way, posting you on advice about packing, eating, currency exchange, weather and many other details. We will walk you through all the details between now and then ... for now, just take the step of faith and sign up!
